Want to get to know people in Barnsley? Interested in volunteering? Did you know that there are over 900 voluntary and community groups in Barnsley? And over 4000 volunteers? VAB is Barnsley’s Council for Voluntary Service. Since 1978 VAB has supported and developed Barnsley’s ever-growing Third sector. What do we do? •Recruit and place volunteers •Hold regular legal surgeries •HR support free of charge •Training • Ensure the Sector is fully involved in, and able to influence, the planning and commissioning of services •promote personal, social and educational development of young people •Organise networking and information events •Payroll & Accounts service •Rent affordable town centre office accommodation •Meeting Rooms for hire and resource centre
